People who believe the bible’s creation myth and claim it’s “compatible” with science are deluded.

(Some chemicals are formed only by living organisms.) But these were lower life forms lacking skeletons or brains.

And we know this “extreme age of the universe” to be correct via a simple proof:
The human “great leap forward” came just an eyeblink ago, within the last 10,000 years. This included advancements like agriculture, irrigation, domesticated animals, cities, etc.
